During meditation, our bodies shift into a “rest and digest” mode, as part of our nervous system becomes more dominant. Core can detect when this is happening by monitoring your heart rate and how it’s changing (your “heart rate variability”, or HRV.)
Every person is different, so Core will use your data to create personalized baselines for you, and let you know after each time you meditate if you’re in your usual range.
Meditation can have slightly different effects on your body depending on the techniques you’re doing. Core expresses this with two different measures: Calm and Focus. Some meditation sessions might give you more of one, the other -- or both at the same time.
Absolutely. Handing your Core to a friend is a great way to let them try it out (and help them start a consistent meditation practice).
The best way to do this is to have your friend/guest download the Core Meditation app so that your biometric feedback doesn’t get mixed up. If you do let them use your Core and your phone, and don’t want their results to affect your personalized baselines, just swipe left on the completed session to delete it from your meditation history.
Core’s battery should hold a charge for 10 days. However, it’s a good idea to place your Core back in the dock that was designed for it after meditating, to ensure it’s always charged and ready to go.
